Privacy Policy for Kakuro
Kakuro is a number puzzle game made by Splash Logic ("we"), a sole proprietorship of Alexey Gusev, Dachsgang 32, 22846 Norderstedt, Germany. This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have. We are the controller of this information for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The short version
- There is no account. We never ask for your name, email, phone number or contacts.
- Your puzzle progress, settings and statistics are stored only on your device.
- The app uses Google services for ads, usage analytics and crash reports. These receive device identifiers and usage information as described below.
- Where the law requires it (for example in the EU/EEA and the UK), you are asked for consent before ads are personalised, and you can change your choice at any time.
Information stored on your device
Solved puzzles, your position in the game, saved boards, streaks and settings are kept in the app's local storage on your phone. They are not sent to us. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them.
Information processed by third-party services
| Service (provider) | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob and the User Messaging Platform (Google) | Advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, your consent choice | To show ads that fund the free game (including optional "watch a video" rewards), to measure them and prevent fraud, and to record your consent |
| Google Analytics for Firebase (Google) | App instance ID, Advertising ID, device and app information, approximate location derived from IP address, in-game events (for example puzzles solved, hints opened, ads shown) | To understand how the game is played and improve its puzzles and difficulty |
| Firebase Crashlytics (Google) | Crash reports, device state at the time of the crash, installation ID | To find and fix bugs |
| Firebase Remote Config (Google) | Installation ID, app version | To adjust game settings, such as how often ads appear, without an app update |
Google processes this information under its own terms and privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. How Google uses information from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Information may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards Google provides.
Legal bases (EU/EEA and UK)
- Consent: personalised advertising and the storage of identifiers on your device for that purpose, where consent is required.
- Legitimate interests: non-personalised ads that keep the game free, analytics to improve the game, and crash reporting to keep it working.
Your choices
- Ad consent: you can review or withdraw your consent from the privacy options in the app, where offered, or by clearing the app's data, which shows the consent message again.
- Advertising ID: you can reset or delete it in your Android settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads).
- Your rights: depending on where you live, you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your information, object to or restrict its processing, or complain to your data protection authority. Because we do not hold your name or contact details, we may need the app instance ID shown by your device to locate data held by our service providers.
Retention
Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days, after which they are deleted by Google. Information on your device stays until you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
Children
Kakuro is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used the app and information has been collected, contact us and we will help remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
